Man.. i just have to blog this in before i go off. Today's tutorial in CS104 was really funny! As usual, prof lee, being self-indulgent, but a very nice guy indeed, was talking about resumes which lapsed into his own personal life.. AGAIN. This time, it's about his korean wife. haha..
*(I suspect most professors are self- indulgent.. They often use class time to promote the things they have done to challenge societal norms, laws, or what they have done to change this society.. haha.. amusing.)
But anyway..the interesting part came when he started talking about the way he proposed to his wife. He said that since the email technology wasnt "in" yet, he used the fax to fax his marriage proposal to his wife in Korea! oh my gosh..he proposed through fax!hahah.. And he said that it shows his seriousness..haha.. thought that was funny, but i wasnt agreeing to the idea of using fax, but nvm.Prof lee's amicable, candid and frank. He said that in using the fax, he wasa participating in the use of technology, something like that..wow, what a way to rationalise the way he proposed.haha.
So almost immediately, he flew to korea to meet his future parents-in-laws and he said all they asked were 3 questions: What is your job background, your education background, and your family background? After that, the father-in-law said pls take good care of my daughter.
The amazing thing was that from the time he knew her to the time he ROMed with her, it was a mere 4months! Wow... and from the time of ROM to the time he held his wedding, another 4months! another wow.. He gave the reason being that why wait, he has the sense it's her (something like that), so he should not wait any longer otherwise the risks will be higher! He kept mentioning about this risk, and i was thinking what on earth's that risk he's referring to?? So my curiosity led to my questioning of that particular risk...That risk turned out to be the risk of losing the "competition" to other guys because she was dating 2 other guys at that time! haha... the whole class started to burst out in laughter..hahahha
oh man.. He is funny. But to sum it off, he told us that because he came from a broken family; his parents were divorced during his childhood, and it does have an impact on the child which is him. So in a marriage, he believes TRUST comes before LOVE. He said if you dont have TRUST towards that person, dont even talk about LOVE.
I dont know what to think of his belief... what do you think?Tell me about it.=)
what i look forward to, 2:00 AM.
