I read something tonight which was really very thought provoking, at least for me..

Iron sharpens Iron
True, yet there is friction when that happens.
We all say that we want to grow yet, are we ready to face the correcting in our lives?
The humbling of one soul and pride?
Is being a better person more important than having the pride you have?
You may say Yes; we all say Yes.
But you will only know if you really meant it when you are being sharpen
Friends are here to help each other become better people
Friends are true when i know they want me to be the best that I can be
Friends are not just there for me; they tell me to stop my self-pity
Friends help me to wake up when I am so lost in my own land
Friends tell me my weaknesses; not just my strengths
Friends hold me up but they know when to tell me to grow up
Friends tell me off even when it hurts; at the expense of the relationship
Friends stay true; even when they are not thought of that way.
Trash with me if you are angry with me
Be nice to me, if you are happy with me
Not the other way round.
Be true to me if you can.
Be true to yourself

This person is a D person, if you know wad i mean... not wrong, not right.. just her character. Admire her strength in wanting to live her life in great conviction and be corrected when wrong. But I think everyone has to learn this in life.. your convictions may not always be other people's convictions.. get it? that's why it's YOUR convictions! not others! hah!

Everybody is different.
Everybody has a different personality, and an even MORE different, unique and hmm.. complicated character.
In learning to communicate with someone EFFECTIVELY, in wanting to correct or put your message across EFFECTIVELY, the key at hand is not just blah-ing everything out, EVEN when the message is screaming in your head, just anxiously trying to force its way out of your mouth.
I agree, a true friend doesnt lie to his/her friend, a friend corrects, a friend honours and loves.
BUT! In correcting a person, you've also got to know his or her character.. is he or she a soft or hard person? Her character and degree of emotional strength or weakness MUST be an impt factor, if not a crucial factor even in correcting. If the way you correct him or her causes him/her to receive your correction and become better, GREAT! You've succeeded in reaching your purpose! But if not, that person can feel hardened in his/her heart towards you! And THAT will be negative/detrimental towards your friendship, her growth and even on you!

Everybody is different. Seek to understand people's character and know them well before you step in deeper. Knowing their character will place YOU in a strategic position to modify your tone, your gestures, your non-verbal aspect of communication BUT with STILL the same intention and message inmind! hah! The art of communciation... well done! hee!=)

*pls dont start thinking i have anything against the writer. On the contrary, i admire the writer's convictions and his/her stand for his/her life! Cheers!

what i look forward to, 8:48 PM.
