God speaks in such an icredibly real yet funny way... and His Word always stands. It is real. The bible says you can test it, you SHOULD test everything.
Today, God spoke to me and affirmed me His Word through a conflict, an argument. I finally tasted the meaning of His Word which I read last night.
"Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable corwn. Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified." -1 Cor 9-24-27
I learnt these things:
1) Do not disciple nor discipline your helper(s) in front of everybody, esp the younger members!
discipleship/ correction is done in the private between the disciple and the discipler only.
2) The young ones MUST be taught and instilled to always RESPECT their leaders, be it in the family or cg or anywhere else. Because leadership is ordained, it is a calling by God. Young ones must learn to respect the authority given to them.
3) As a leader, I cant stress and emphasize it enough that we must strive to live a higher standard than those under us. Even in our family.
These are my convictions. I must strive to lead a higher standard.
